Education is compulsory in Denmark for children from the age of 6 to approximately 15 years old. There are international schools in Copenhagen and the surrounding suburbs. Prior to starting school, Denmark has a public childcare system as an integral part of the social welfare system. In addition, there is a nursery for children aged 0-6 onsite at Novo Nordisk’s headquarters in Bagsvaerd, close to Copenhagen, although places are limited.
